چکیده

Abstract Ultraviolet (UV) electro-optic modulation system based on graphene-plasmonic metamaterials nanomechanical (NEMS) with superlubricity is investigated. Due to the strong optical absorption intensity of graphene in UV region and combination metamaterial structure surface plasmons, depth NEMS modulator approaches as high 8.5 times compared counterpart visible light region. Meanwhile, significantly reduces power consumption due its extremely low friction coefficient. It also increases response speed modulator, time down nanoseconds. The voltage can be equal or less than 150 mV. proposed has a simple sensitivity, which supposed have important applications optoelectronic devices systems.

Deposited silicon high-speed integrated electro-optic modulator.

We demonstrate a micrometer-scale electro-optic modulator operating at 2.5 Gbps and 10 dB extinction ratio that is fabricated entirely from deposited silicon. The polycrystalline silicon material exhibits properties that simultaneously enable high quality factor optical resonators and sub-nanosecond electrical carrier injection. We use an embedded p(+)n(-)n(+) diode to achieve optical modulatio...

Surface-normal electro-optic spatial light modulator using graphene integrated on a high-contrast grating resonator.

We demonstrate efficient optical modulation of surface-normal reflection in a novel device structure integrating graphene on a high contrast grating (HCG) resonator. As high as 11 dB extinction ratio is achieved by varying the voltage applied to a single atomic layer of graphene on a HCG resonator. The device topology facilitates easy fabrication of large 2D arrays, and free-space operation. We...

Near-infrared electro-optic modulator based on plasmonic graphene.

We propose a novel scheme for an electro-optic modulator based on plasmonically enhanced graphene. As opposed to previously reported designs where the switchable absorption of graphene itself was employed for modulation, here a graphene monolayer is used to actively tune the plasmonic resonance condition through the modification of interaction between optical field and an indium tin oxide (ITO)...

Electro-optic switching in metamaterial by liquid crystal

Electro-optic switching of reflection and refraction is experimentally demonstrated in metasurface liquid crystal cell. Negative metasurface is fabricated by focused-ion-beam milling, and twisted nematic cells are constructed with complementary double-split ring resonator and V-shape slot antenna metasurface. By application of an external voltage, electro-optic switchings are achieved in reflec...
